Blackberry-tastic

This weekend was all about the blackberry; the picking, the cooking, and the eating!

I picked 4kg in total; about 4 ice cream tubs full.

This time of year, with autumn just around the corner, my mind always turns to pie. Sweet or savoury; I’m not fussy.
I have a fabulous book by Angela Boggiano.

My favourite pie book

I have cooked many of the meat pies from this book. My other half now compares all pies to mine!
I will share my pies with you through the coming months. I hope you don’t mind.

Love, Lucie xx

About lovelucie1

I cannot sit without something in my hands to sew, crochet, sketch etc. This becoming something of an addiction. In fact, I start to get twitchy if I am stationary somewhere, waiting for an appointment, waiting for my daughter, away with work, without some project to keep my hands busy. Minutes wasted make me anxious. This blog logs my progress to raise funds through my creations to feed my textile habbit.

When you say that you will share your pies throughout the coming months – do you mean you’ll send me some? You have my address. These look yummy, but I expect they’re gone by now. Maureen

  2. This all looks so tasty, we have also been blackberry picking, just a humble crumble for me (all I could manage to make before my daughter devoured the rest of the berries). Can’t wait to see some more of your pies.

    • They may not look quite as perfect as the photos but I’m going to give it a good try! We all love pies here but are quite fussy about where our meat comes from so I like to make my own if I can.

  4. Funny you should make a blackberry pie today as I have just seen another one, they both look yummy. I am off work this week and am hoping to go picking and baking too. Also I may treat my hubby to a couple of nights in Ripon after seeing your post about The Old Deanery, he is a bit of a foodie so we will be trying out the restaurant the food looked fab.
