Definitely the last

Definitely the last

I’m done with amigurumi for a while but I’ve saved the best (and the most fiddly) til last.

This is Clyde. As named by my husband.

If anyone is in any doubt; he is an orangutan.

And I love him.

This is the original

I was going to give him a trim but rather like him ‘shaggy’.

His ‘fur’ is made by looping the yarn around your finger every 3rd or fourth stitch to create a loop which really slowed my usual crocheting pace down. I was so glad to complete him!

img_3228

You cut through all the loops at the end, once you’ve sewn him together – also fiddly!

He’s already made some friends

And is ready to be parceled up for the imminent arrival of a new member of our family.

Lets not forget Elijah. I didn’t add to his ears!

I’m ready to put away the crochet hook……for a little while.

Love, Lucie xx

About lovelucie1

I cannot sit without something in my hands to sew, crochet, sketch etc. This becoming something of an addiction. In fact, I start to get twitchy if I am stationary somewhere, waiting for an appointment, waiting for my daughter, away with work, without some project to keep my hands busy. Minutes wasted make me anxious. This blog logs my progress to raise funds through my creations to feed my textile habbit.

  5. Aren’t you going to keep just one for yourself? I’d have to. Isn’t Clyde named after the orang-utan in the old Clint Eastwood film?
Good decision with the elephant ears šŸ˜‰

  9. I love all of them. You’ve also encouraged me to get back on with these. After my Emma Bunny fiasco, I almost shut the book and put it back on the shelf – so thank you šŸ™‚

  10. Ohhh wow!!!!! He’s amazing and definitely my favourite.

Little Mudlet wants me to tell you that her favourite is the Hippo but that’s no big surprise to us because her comfort cuddly is also a hippo (and light purple). Middle Mudlet likes the orange monkey best of all. What a fabulous gift you have created for the new baby šŸ™‚ x

  19. They’re all fantastic but look especially impressive as a group like this and I love the colours you’ve chosen so much more than the, dare I say, boring beiges that they use in the book. I would find it so hard to part with them, I must admit.

  21. Love all your crochet animals! Do you use cotton yarn? Do you have a favorite brand? I’ve made the rabbit from Edward’s Menagerie & found the directions to be so good. Keep up the great work & thanks for sharing what you make!
