Ferns

Firstly, I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and didn’t eat as many of these as I did.

Hot cross buns

My embroidery board is here if you’d like to have look. It features quite a variety of techniques. I’m quickly swayed towards one style when a search me takes down another route.

My recent sort out of my dmc threads also made me appreciate the lovely selection of greens I had hidden in my tin. Read the rest of this entry

Folk embroidery

There’s another embroidery book that I’ve recently become hooked on, quite unlike the fine embroidery I’ve been ‘churning out’ recently.

Suddenly you can loose hours (again) on Pinterest, pinning all the things you want to make (copy).

You start filling an unreasonably large basket on Amazon/Hobbycraft without much thought as to exactly how many spare hours you have at your disposal.

So I took a little break

So I took a little break

The break from the blog wasn’t intentional. There were no big dramas or family issues. No natural disaster or man-made terror, although 2016 featured plenty of them. Just a case of a few days turning into a week, turning into a month, turning into a ten month break from the blog.

Back in April 2016 a frozen shoulder, not helped by crochet overload, a renewed zest for the 9 to 5 job (strange but true) and lighter evenings calling me outside, mostly cycling, led to a mostly craft free summer.

But now, I’m back! (I think!). After a month stalking you all from the sidelines I’m dipping my toe back into the blog. Read the rest of this entry
