Firstly, I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and didn’t eat as many of these as I did.

I also ate a whole Easter egg in one sitting 😉

Anyway, back to the ferns. Ferns, in the loosest, botanically incorrect sense of the word, I think. I had seen some lovely images of clean simple embroidery on Pinterest. My embroidery board is here if you’d like to have look. It features quite a variety of techniques. I’m quickly swayed towards one style when a search me takes down another route.

My recent sort out of my dmc threads also made me appreciate the lovely selection of greens I had hidden in my tin. Read the rest of this entry

Never enough project bags

So many projects, never enough bags.

But now I have one more courtesy of DMC who gave us bloggers a DMC goodie bag at the recent CHSI Stitches trade show.

One of the lovely kits inside was a hot off the press ‘Custom by me!’ DMC kit.

Something that requires no muslin, no fitting issues, no adjustments.

Lisa from White Tree Fabrics had contacted me a good few weeks before Christmas and asked if I fancied trying out one off their Uhandbag kits.

Testing, testing

Just before we went away I had a lovely time pattern testing a mostly hand sewn fabric keepsake box.

When Lynn from her Tialys blog requested pattern testers I was only too happy to oblige. A free insight into making these gorgeous boxes? There was no decision to be made.

So armed with card, fabric and glue I set to work in the garden.

Pattern testing

I’ve spent the weekend in the garden, ignoring the weeds but pattern testing for my good friend Tialys who blogs about her crafty life in France.

Well, we are only blogger friends but I feel we could be good friends if we lived on the same mainland!
